Women's Sexual Problems

There are many problems that women can experience related to sex. Some common topics include:

  • Pain during intercourse
  • Burning or itching around or in the vagina
  • Problems getting aroused or trouble having an orgasm
  • No desire to have sex
  • These issues can be caused by many things. Some of the more frequent causes are:

  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Social or relationship problems
  • Past sexual suffering
  • Low self-esteem
  • Negative view of your body
  • Hormone issues
  • Pain resulting from a past injury
  • Other health issues such as diabetes or arthritis
  • Age
  • Certain drugs
  • If you are a woman experiencing sexual related issues, it is recommended that you consult with your doctor. A doctor or gynecologist can help diagnose what may be causing your sexual pain or other sex related issue. If you problems cannot be solved by your gynecologist then you may need to see a sexual pain specialist.

    Sexual problems are not uncommon with women. It has been reported that up to 70% of couples encounter some sort of sexual problem at some point in their relationship. The majority of women will have at least one sexual experience that feels bad or has some sort of pain. This doesn't necessarily indicate that you have a sexual problem.
